Going Solo and Loving It

More people live alone now than at any other time in history. Older single people stated a clear inclination for living by themselves. They said living alone allowed them to hold onto their feelings of independence and honesty. Older retired people said they do not want to move in with friends, family or into a retirement center or nursing home.

Sociologist Eic Klinenberg has written a book on this phenomena of living alone in which he states that the desire to live alone is the most significant shift in demographics since the baby- boom. Mary Ann Doucette is President of Doucette Medical Supply, Ltd. aka Doucette Medical Supply, LLC
